Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of IELTS Band 8 (band8.org). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
What the service is
IELTS Band 8 is an independent preparation platform offering study guides, skill practice, and mock tests with automated feedback. It helps you prepare for the IELTS exam. It is not the official IELTS test and does not issue official results.
Your account
- You sign in with Google. Keep your Google account secure — you’re responsible for activity under your account.
- One account per person. Don’t share access or impersonate others.
Access and pricing
During our launch the platform is free to use; access is granted per account. We don’t process any payment at this time. If we introduce paid plans later, we’ll make the terms clear before you’re charged.
Acceptable use
- Use the platform for your own exam preparation.
- Don’t scrape, copy, resell, or redistribute our content, questions, or audio.
- Don’t attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Don’t upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you create — your writing submissions and speaking recordings. You grant us a limited licence to store and process them solely to run the service and generate your feedback. Speaking recordings are deleted automatically after 90 days.
About the feedback
Scores and feedback are generated automatically to help you practise. They are estimates for guidance only — they are not official IELTS band scores and do not guarantee any result on the real exam.
Intellectual property
The platform, its content, and its design are owned by us or our licensors. “IELTS” is a registered trademark of its respective owners (the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge). We are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by them.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will produce a particular band score.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, if any.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or misuse the platform.
Changes
We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above and flag significant updates. Continuing to use the platform means you accept the revised terms.
